Finally be the final

After we finding our poster be hanged on the wall, we are really happy and can not wait to see what degree we will get. We find, maybe the teacher hanged the poster by his feeling of colors. The same color style be put together.Really happy to see my work be put on the wall———normal stone.

Today i am busy with the submission.

I have to say i have a clear and good plan today, but! It not be finished. Because of the film’s format.

In the beginning, this is my plan: First, go to school before 11.30. Second, go to get the DVD and its case, and use the poster to design the DV cover. Third, print the poster, the DV cover. Forth, ask Mario about the format, make sure of anything is ok. Final, submit anything. Then come home to write more things on my working blogs.

But my plan stopped, because of the format.  At first i choose quicktime, then H264. It is right. But another format i choose quicktime, then uncompressed format. It is really big. My film has almost 20GB. So I go to ask Mario. Because the DVD only has 4GB. Mario finds i does not have the code named animation. But finally i find i have, because it is in chinese and my english is not good, there will have some misunderstanding. Then i choose to come out the animation format. It has 28GB. I can not believe my eyes. By the way, PR stops working during waiting. So i try twice.  When Mario takes me to get the frame of the poster, i ask my curiousy. Mario said it is ok, big or small it depends on the files. But almost one afternoon has passed.

Luckily, i have finished all.

But!!!!! The fast folder also closed, when i finished them. I am afraid tomorrow the time for me to update my film to the school will need much time. Because One video is almost 28 GB.

My short film finally finished

My short film finally finished, my year in this university finished. I have many touching things to say:

I have to say this short film gave me a lot.  I learned many things in China, and the final year i go to this university. In the beginning, i think this will not help me a lot. But when i view back what i have done in the university, the most busy, precious, meaningful time is this year in the University of Central Lancashire.

In china, our class students’ drawing level is not good than other classes. At the same time, one teacher should teach more than 100 students, so we are not be payed attention to. And the way of teaching is not open, the school does not give enough study materials, sources, rooms for students, even it is a good university in China. But it still has some interesting and helpful teachers there, for example, Longjuanjuan teacher. But she is busy. So the teachers like Mario and Pete is really good for us. They gave us a lot advice. And the school although it is small but it really helps students a lot to finish their works.By the way, i really like the sports center, when i am not busy, i often go to that place to have Zumba lessons (a healthy dancing). And it is free. That makes me relax when i am busy on the deadlines.

This film and the last term’s book give me a lot. How to make a plan and follow the plan. Modify works repeatedly, experience many troubles and try to solve these troubles by teachers, classmates, friends, Internet and myself.

My friend ( Amber Zhao ) is really a good ‘friend teacher ‘ for me. She knows much more things than me and has a good taste of pictures. Her advice often make me have a big improvement. My friend ( Cecilia Feng),  she also has a different meanings for me. We often study together. For example, yesterday, we were up all night in the library to study. Her company makes me work hard. You know, fight a battle lonely is really terrible and difficult. She is my ‘allied forces’. Both of them are important parts on my works this year.

This is a really good year, really busy year, really meaningful year. Thanks to them, thanks to my families and thanks to you.

Voice acting

Originally, i let Pete Gallagher to be my voice over, because i think Small Pete’s voice is warm, clear and a little bit sad. So I invited him to be my voice acting. He is happy to agree. I really like his voice. We went to the Animation Sound Studio to record the voice. And Nathan come to help us to record. When we test the voice, there are some voice need to imitate mother’s voice and grandfather’s voice. Small Pete thought he is not good at this part, so he invited Nathan to try. When we did these things, we didn’t know my voice will be changed in the future.

One day, Big Pete came to see my works, he found Nathan’s voice is better than small Pete. He gave me an advice to change small Pete’s voice into Nathan’s voice. But i think maybe it is not good. Because Nathan is also busy with the deadline. But kind Nathan agree to be my new voice acting.

when small Pete be my voice, my voice is just the important plots’ voice over. Small Pete and big Pete all modified it.

But i find Big Pete also can not understand my plotafter watching the film. So i got Amber’s advice, Maybe I should keep talking when the plot going. So I write a new voice over. Amber and Nathan modified it for me. Especially Amber, she added many interesting details for the voice over. We went to the Animation Sound Studio again, Amber and Cecilia came with me. This time, Nathan is the voice acting and Dec is the person who recording the voice.

After the recording of voice over, I found, the animation is not enough, so i draw many new plots and details to accord with the voice over. Really tired.

Sound effects and the film be finished!!!!!

These sound effects are all i download from the Internet. I searched them at the same time i put them on the PR. This can save much time and improve the efficiency.

Make the film’s colors look better

To make the film looks better, i added 6 styles of materials on the animation and make them change and change, I colored them into warm yellow. This can rich the animation and make the colors look better.

The process of film

This part i want to add a gesture of hand to show the friend think the stone is stupid and in the end i add an action of  sticking his tongue out.

This part i drawn the little boy is running, because he is sad.

This part to show the little boy is lonely.

This three actions all to show the little boy is sad. To save the time, so the animation is simple.

This part to show the little boy is shocked, when the stone began to shine again. This part i draw with much patience. I even draw the hair’s action.

This is the most easy way to show the stone’s light changed from weak to strong.

These animation all aimed to add more details to show the plot.

Finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Finished all the animation. These is all the TVP files i have drawn.

The process of film

I only changed the grandfather’s eyes here to show grandfather closed his eyes slowly.

I add this part to show grandfather is peaceful and quite. Previously, there are no angles, Amber gave me the advice, maybe i can draw two angles. But i said to Amber: i didn’t know how to draw angles. Amber said to me: Do you know the angles which hanging on the Christmas trees. I said: Oh i got you!

Also to save time, so i only drawn the actions of the finger to show the grandfather go for a travel, because only use the plane to show this part will be boring.

The plan’s part, i also try to do not used black lines. The clouds i changed for many times, finally get what i want. Because i want to save time, so i make the plane stop and only drawn the moving clouds and mountains(lands).

This part i try to make the little boy has interaction with the last scene’s plane. So i draw the shadow of plane on the little boy’s face.

I drawn this part to show the little boy is sad, because he didn’t know where is grandfather. I think about it long time and decide to draw a globe to show the plot.

This part i want to show the twins are copy. To save time of drawing, so i drawn like this.

Because the voice is loner than the animation of the twins’ dialogues, so i add this.

 

 

The process of film (i am really tired and hungry)

I add this part to show the little boy is happy just like a idiot.

I add this to show grandpa want to the little boy come close. Because i am really tired, so i only draw the close up camera of the grandfather’s hand. It can make the film looks interesting and save time to draw.

I drawn this to show the little boy thinks this stone looks normal.

I add this part to show the little boy is exciting after he knowing this is a magic stone.

The process of film (I am tired)

I drawn this part because the animation is not enough in this part. And i recently want to try this action, so i add this.

Because big Pete can not understand the plot of the little boy and his parents have a different view. And he advised me to add the plot likes this. And i deleted the little bit previous animation to instead of this part.

I add this part also because that part the animation is not enough. This part the voice talks about the grandpa lives so far away. I think about two stars to show the far distance. And add a UFO to make the animation be rich. Because the characters are small so small and i also want to try different style of animation, so i do not draw the black lines. I like this part, but i am still tired.

I drawn this part also because the animation is not enough, so i tried to add a monster’s actions to the house.

I changed this parts hands, color them and make them be more fluent. I also changed the father’s part, because the previous part father does not look good.

I add this part to show the grandfather is weak.
